After about a week of research and troubleshooting this I thought I would pass this along to the much more knowledgeable people here. Essentially I have a 150+ users logging on to local machines, thin clients, and terminal servers. There have been 3 different administrators since this was initially setup and all tried to do their own thing it appears. Some users have roaming profiles etc... I am attempting to simply have the users be redirected on our three terminal servers and local desktop to their home folder and ditch the roaming profiles. This is where I am having issues. The GP is evidently working fine and will redirect users automatically to their home folder for their local desktop and for terminal server 2. Terminal server 1 and 3 both keep wanting to use their own local profile for the user to save. When I manually attempt to add the home folder to a user manually, it will continually pop up with "This network location can't be included because it is not indexed."
I would like to pass along everything I have tried to see if their is something I may be missing.
- I have attempted to make sure the home folders are all indexed by selecting make "always available offline" option.
- I installed the latest windows search update for our windows 2003 server that contains the home folders.
- I have attempted a variation of adding file services to terminal server 1 and 3
Like I said previously, I am running out of ideas on this one and would appreciate any suggestion or help that could be passed my way.
Thanks,
Lance
