I have a legacy program (Cognos Impromtu 7.0.702) installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box with Remote Desktop Services enabled. I need to run this program because is the only license we have and need to upgrade users computers, hence I thought it was a good idea to grant them Access through RDS.
The program was installed and runs fine with Administrator account on the Win2008R2 box, it also works flawlesly with "User1", either signing in locally or remotely. But when I try to use "User2" or "User3" the program just closes inmediately after double clicking on the executable (the Cognos Impromptu window appears on screen for about half a second and then dissapears). I checked the process and it dies instantly after double clicking the executable . I have also checked folders permissions on both profiles and they look exactly the same. I have also checked the "compatibility settings" on both profiles with no avail. I am not receiving any error messages on the event viewer.
Can someone have any ideas why it Works with one profile but not with other 2? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
