Hi All,
I have an RDS environment that consists of one RD Gateway server (W2K8R2 Enterprise) and 10 RD servers (W2K8R2 Standard). The RD Web Access role is installed on the Gateway server but it is very rarely used. There is no connection broker needed in my case. This set up has been working perfectly for the past year and has been stable. We have about 300 concurrent users connecting through the Gateway during peak hours.
Recently, it appears that the Gateway service is hanging. Some users report that their session is frozen, others slow, and others can't connect with an error message stating that the computer could not connect in the time allotted. To get the users back on I've had to restart the server or restart the RD Gateway Service. While the issue is occurring I've tried to open the RD Gateway Manager but the MMC console just hangs. After the server is rebooted or the service is rebooted I'm able to get back in to the MMC.
I've built another Gateway server and had users connect through the new one thinking that it was just a random Windows issue that would disappear after a rebuild, but, sadly it wasn't the case. There are no obvious performance bottlenecks or resource issues that I can see doing the basic monitoring.
Has anyone had any similar issues? Hot Fixes that may address an issue like this ? Or maybe other troubleshooting or performance monitoring that I should try ?
