All,
This isn't exactly a crisis (yet), but we have a system for the management of a blood bank that we are accessing through Citrix web servers.
Because another enterprise application (funded by another group) is using a domain level TS License server and they refused to allow us to add CALs to it, we were forced to install the License server role on a member server and install our CALs there. We have approximately 1200 users worldwide accessing the system from 400 workstations in fixed lab environments, for this reason we went with a device CAL option.
In order to plan for Disaster Recovery, we are deploying a second citrix farm and application server farm in a separate location and implementing GSLB to re-route web connections should the primary data center go down. There are DCs in the DR site so all systems are members of the same forest/domain. With the TS License server physically at the primary site (as just a member server), if we fail over and the primary site is unavailable, will my users be denied access if their connections fail over to the DR site. If so, how can I make this work without needing double the amount of TS CALs?
Hopefully my explanation of our scenario makes sense.
Regards,
Ron Griffin
