Hello All,
I'm going to deploy a 1host RDS farm for a small company.
They will be connecting over a small leased line towards the RDS server.
To avoid clogging the line when they print, I would like to join the thin clients to the domain and map the printers to the thin clients directly instead of mapping the printers within the RDS session.
I've got a few questions tough:
1) will the spooling be done on the thin clients or within the session?
2) If spooling is done within the session, can I force it to be done on the thin client?
3) can RemoteFX be enabled on a thin client or only on a fat operating system?
4) does RemoteFX need to be enabled via GPO on both the thin client AND RDS Server for printer redirection to work? From what I can read, it does but I just want to get confirmation.
Is the approach I'm going for the best way to avoid printer traffic going back and forward over the WAN or are there other (better) ways to do this?
I look forward in hearing your oppinions!
Many thanks in advance!
