Hello,
we're operating a RD-Farm w/ Server 2008 R2. The print server is running 2008 R2 and all printers are shared.
I'm searching for a way to automatically supply our RD-Servers w/ suitable drivers for our printers so that the Users can connect printers w/out any interaction.
The script prndrvr.vbs in %windir%\System32\Printing_Admin_Scripts\de-DE installs the drivers successfully. However, if a User attempts to connect to a shared printer it ask for a driver installation for which the User has insufficient rights.
If I install the shared printer as Administrator and delete the Printer-Object afterwards, so that the drivers remain on the RD-Host the Users can connect the printer w/out any problems.
I compared the files in %windir%\system32/spool and registry settings HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\ of both installations but couldn't find differences.
Does anyone know how to deploy printer drivers to RD-Hosts?
Including the drivers in the VM-Template is the last option because of lots of manual work to update drivers or deploy drivers for new printers.
Thanks in advance.
