I am running Windows Server 2008 R2. It is both a DC and an Exchange Server.
Every few weeks, The Remote Desktop suddenly becomes unavailable remotely, but can be accessed from the server itself. By that, I mean that on that same server, it can connect to itself using Remote Desktop and telnet localhost 3389 succeeds. However, from any other computer, even on the same LAN, I can't connect and a telnet to port 3389 fails from computers on the LAN to that server.
The only solution I could find is rebooting. The problem is, when I am out of the office, without Remote Desktop I have no way of rebooting it.
Both the web server and the Exchange Server are available when this happens.
How do I proceed to diagnose and fix this?
TIA,
