Greetings everyone,
We're deploying Remote Desktop Services for a client on the 2012 platform. All is well with the server and the users can log in with their thin clients using remote desktop connection.
My question is: How can I customize the start screen? The metro one? It's located here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
I've tried:
- - GPO for custom start menu folder, adding icons.
- - Creating a template in the default profile
- - Using GPO's to add icons to the start menu folder depending on user rights and/or group memberships.
That works well! Because the icons are stored there. But the metro menu won't load the icons from this folder.
The strange thing is, when I install another application for example wireshark, the metro menu is refreshed with all icons from the Start Menu folder. So it's forced to update?
So basically I know how to get the icons in the start menu folder depending on user rights / groups. But how can I make the metro menu pin them to start? At every login for example?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Jan
