I have an existing Windows 2003 TS Licensing server. This is used to deploy per device CALs to 1000 devices.
I plan to install a 2008 R2 RDS Licensing server and install our 750 Per User RDS CAL's to the new 2008 R2 RDS server as well as migrate the 1000 Per Device CALs to the new 2008 RDS Licensing Server so I have a singe licensing server.
The existing 2003 TS servers are configured to use the existing 2003 TS Licensing server by registry key and therefore I will need to manually update them and point them to use the new 2008 R2 RDS Licensing server once the TS CAL's have been migrated
across.
What happens to the existing 2003 TS Servers when I deactivate the 2003 TS Licensing server? Will everything will continue to work as usual but I have 120 days to update the registry key on the existing 2003 TS servers to use the new 2008 R2 RDS licensing server?
