Windows Terminal Server on windows server 2012

I have a legacy "thick client application"`.  It runs reasonably well with MS Windows Server 2012 and workstation-clients on a local LAN.  In this scenario the MS Windows Server 2012 box functions both as PDC and as application server including acting as database server.  I need to make provision for running this application on a variety of workstations which will communicate with the MS Windows Server 2012 over VPN's or other network links.

Formerly I employed a MS Windows Server 2003 box as PDC + Application Server and a seperate MS Windows Server 2003 box as a Teminal Server which yielded acceptable results for the remote clients.

Can I employ a single MS Windows Server 2012 box as PDC + Application Server + teminal services provider?

If I wan to provide the equivalent of MS Windows Server 2003 Teminal Services under MS Windows Server 2012, i.e. provide multiple virtual terminals on the MS Windows Server 2012 box which is the best approach as from my reading there appear to be a number of approaches which may be chosen.

Thank you.
