We have run across a problem where we have moved our TS licensing to a 2012
server. We have 2012, 2008, and 2003 CALs installed. However, once we removed
the old 2003 TS license server and made it so the only one was on 2012, we can
no longer use Remote Control from the 2003 servers. The specific error that
shows up is - "Error 7054 - The system has reached its licensed logon limit.
Please try again later"
Users can RDP into the servers, the issue is only with remote control. Remote
control does work if you are logged into a 2008/2012 server and use it to
connect to a 2003 server. But it does not work from another 2003 server. We have
tried to troubleshoot all the recommended TS licensing issues that Microsoft
publishes but they haven't helped. The only 2003 systems affected by this are
the ones created after the only license server was on a 2012 box. All 2003
server created before that are still working correctly at this point.
Any ideas out there?
