Hello,
I am an IT technician working on a remote desktop/terminal server running Windows Server 2008 R2.
I have run into a problem recently where a user's network printer connections are taking a long time to load, some times up to five minutes after they have logged in.
This is a problem as the user has over 20 network printers in their profile that they use, and they often try to begin printing as soon as they've logged in.
What I have found is that the printers load instantly if the user's profile is changed to local, however we want our user accounts set to roaming for other reasons.
I am now wondering if it is possible to specify maybe through group policy or the registry, to load network printer connections from the user's local profile, but keep everything else roaming. Or if there is another solution to this problem that could be recommended?
Thank you so much for your time, this issue has been giving me trouble for some time now and if you could help me solve it I'd greatly appreciate it.
Best regards,
-George
