Bypass RD Gateway Server - Direct Access Issue

Hello, we are having an issue with the Bypass RD Gateway Server for local addresses setting in Remote Desktop. When our users are connected remotely via Direct Access, this setting is not getting respected and they are still going through Gateway, even though they do not need to.  I'm guess this is because of how Direct Access translates to IPv6?  In addition to performing an extra unnecessary hop, this is also breaking Single Sign On and our RemoteApps.  In this scenario users can't launch RemoteApps that we publish to their start menu (it causes a password prompt, that even when entering credentials does not work).  The only workaround is to go to the RDWeb Portal and login there and launch the apps that way; which is not what we are trying to accomplish.  The apps work fine when the user is internal and Direct Access is not active.  Thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
