So we have a RDS 2012 Pooled Collection setup with "User Profile Disks" enabled.
What the users are doing are connecting to our print server via UNC and mapping a printer for example \\printerserver01\Printer01
This works fine. They can even log out and back in and the printer is still mapped.
However they lose it as their default every time.
I did see this Policy but it has not helped.
Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Printer Redirection
Do not set default client printer to be default printer in a session - Enabled
I have two thoughts that might be causing this. First the policy might not really be getting applied as the machines just keep reverting to the snapshots, or my other thought is that when the users connect its takes a minute for the printers to be installed
again. As the profiles know of the printer but the computer does not. So it has to install them behind the scenes but in that process it loses the default.
