I’ve recently set up a TS Session Broker for a new Terminal Server Farm. I’m seeing the most of the disconnected users are not be re-connected to their sessions when disconnected, they are starting new sessions on the Terminal Servers.
There are 4 Terminal Server Machines
The session broker is setup on a separate Windows 2008 machine – not one f the 4 terminal servers.
All 4 terminal server machines are configured to use this session broker server, all are part of the same farm, all participating in Session Broker Load Balancing, and all using their local IP for IP address redirection.
DNS round robin has been configured for the termfam, 4 entries of the name “TERMFARM” have been added, each entry has one of the IP addresses of the Terminal Servers.
I’ve also applied this patch from Microsoft on my server running the session broker service: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977541
I have mix of Thin Clients and desktop users using RDP to connect, both types of users are affected by this – disconnected sessions are not always reconnected. I’d say that out of 10 disconnects, 8 are not reconnected to their previously disconnected session, but this is a best estimation.
Anyone have any idea a configuration I’ve missed or could add to help resolve this?
Thanks in advance for your time.
