OK. I have a small VDI test environment with 2012 server and windows 8.1 desktops. Should I be installing apps such as office in the template for VDI or as a remote app? Can the remote app be accessed via the vdi desktop? I'm thinking it would be better to virtualize the apps separately from the desktop so as to keep the desktop image clean, but I'm not sure if that is a best practice.
