We have a 2012 R2 RDS Solution in place and are publishing 2 x RemoteApps to some Windows 8 client machines.
All the underlying settings seem to be working fine and the client RADC URL is being populated via Group Policy but the icons don't appear on the users Start (Metro UI) menu. If we right click on the Start Menu and click on All Apps the icons are visible and we can see the shortcuts and rdp files in the users profile.
The only way we can seem to get the icons to appear is if the user already has a locally cached profile on the laptop, then we move the laptops machine account into the new OU that applies the RADC URL. After replication has completed the user can login and the icons appear on the Start Menu. If we then logon and remove the users profile, then log tem back on again the icons never appear again!
We have setup a seperate test environment and can replicate the issue but can't see anyone else having mentioned it on the various forums?
