Remote Apps on a wtos client - CERT ERR 7606

I try to access remote app from a RD server farm(2008 R2) from a WTOS client. I therefore tried to follow the instructions in this document : http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/products/1000/Setting%20Up%20Microsoft%20RemoteApp%20for%20WTOS.pdf

The problem that I run into is that when I'm supposed to copy the self-signed certificate to a file, this option is greyed out. I managed to get the certificate from the Certificate Snapin, but I the difference is that there is a private key for this certificate, and the option to export with the private ket is also greyed out.
NL authentication is off.

Therefore trying to login on the connection broker results in a CERT_ERROR 7606 message on the WTOS client, but with and without the certificate added to the wtos client. I can see in the certificate details that the certificate is not valid on the wtos client, probably because the private key is missing.

Also, when adding this certificate manually, is it automatically renewed(the certificate from rd-web acces is only valid 6 months or, so does it just stop working afterwards? Or, posed otherwise, is it even possible to deploy remote apps on a wtos client using the self-signed certificate for RD web access? We prefer not to go to the "trouble" to obtain a signed certificate.

Does the wtos client simply need to be in the same domain as the session hosts hosts hosting the remoteapps(that is not the case for the moment)? or do I really need the certificate? How can I export it with the private key?

Lots of questions and doubts, i hope my question is a bit clear and that someone can help me. Thanks!

RD
