Our enterprise is in the process of implementing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Towards that end, we have setup RDS on a couple of Windows 2012 Datacenter R2 servers and have successfully created a session-based collection.
However, the issue that we come up against – being that when users connect it is to a sysprepped image - is the fact that an administrator has to configure a couple of programs each time a user RDPs into a new session. One of these applications is ShoreTel Call Manager – and the other is Outlook 2013. Our existing AD user login script will configure Outlook via a PRF file if it doesn’t see a certain file in a local folder. That being said, is there a step/setting in a Session-based collection that I am missing – or do I have to use personal virtual machines?
How are others avoiding the “Out of the Box” experience each time a user logs onto a VDI session, seeing how the image must be sysprepped before it can be applied to a VDI pool?
Many thanks,
Adrian Roe
