I have server 2016 latest release installed and Win 10 Build 1607 guest VMs. I'm using profile disks. Intermittently the UPDs are not detaching causing the user to get a temp profile the next time they login. What is very interesting is the release notes of the most recent rollup, October 18, 2016— KB3192404 (Preview of Monthly Rollup) , for server 2012 R2 has the following fix for Server 2012 R2. I'm having this EXACT issue except in server 2016. I cannot find whether or not this is fixed in Server 2016 or not, but either way, i'm having this exact problem. How can I find out if this is going to be fixed in Server 2016?
This is the release note from KB3192404: Addressed issue where the user profile disk (UPD) does not get unmounted when a user logs off. Therefore, users get temporary profiles and are not able to work with their own profiles during their next logon. The Event ID 20491 with a description of “Remote Desktop Services could not disconnect a user disk for the user account with a SID of <SID>. The error code is 0xAA.93” will be logged.
